• I watched a few episodes of Netflix’s The Devil’s Plan : I normally wouldn’t watch this kind of shows, but it has been pointed out to me that this could be interesting because of its mathematical challenges. I’m going to finish watching it, but mostly it lost its appeal two or three episodes in; and I feel like some crucial events that happen later on are too good not to have been scripted in advance;
  • Loki season 2 - Episode 4 : nice cliffhanger, but I’m not sure where this series is going - not to mention the whole MCU;
  • The best film I watched during the week was definitely Killers of the Flower Moon, which is beautifully made (not that there was any doubt), and doesn’t feel as long as the watch says. But still gave me a lot of time to reflect how the story beats were not that far away from one of Martin Scorsese’s most-renowned works. I wouldn’t be surprised if Lily Gladstone received an Oscar nomination, and Robert DeNiro too;
  • Speak No Evil, that I watched as part of the Evolution of Horror external link ‘Home’ series, has shocked me like no other film did since The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I remember seeing the trailer in cinemas and really not wanting to watch it: I don’t regret doing it, but it’s one of those films, like Requiem for a Dream or Funny Games, that I really can’t imagine revisiting. Also, I’m surprised it didn’t create any diplomatic incident!
  • I went with friends to try the Spinnekopke external link restaurant in Brussels: great company, ‘authentic’ Belgian atmosphere and very friendly staff made for a very pleasant experience (the food was good, but, to my mediterranean taste, not amazing);
  • inspired by ’the spirit of Halloween’ - and my listening to folklore-related podcasts - I tried to look for Belgian ghost stories but I didn’t find that many. I’ll keep the ones I’ve found for a post - at some point;
  • The move to ‘Winter Time’ seems to have had a stronger effect on my sleep pattern than usual
