So, a month (actually more than that) went by, and no weekly summaries for a while. Let’s not read too much into it, but it has been (and still is) quite a complicate period…

  • 🎉 There has been an important birthday (and celebrations haven’t ended yet… let’s extend the positive mood as much as possible), and presents, and time spent with friends, for which I am very grateful.

  • 💼 …but there has also been an excessive amount of work, for which I am not very grateful. Something has to change, one way or another

  • 📝In the meantime I’ve started a (private) journal, which for some reason I can’t fully identify, I write in English. Apple’s new ‘Journals’ feature was the ‘inciting incident’, which quickly led me to fully embrace Day One instead, only to cancel its trial period and fall back on Obsidian.

  • 🖥️ As a present to myself, I bought a new modern iPad (Padomar II was 9 years’ old) and tried to learn to draw (a bit), something I haven’t done for decades. For what purpose, it’s not clear - not that I’m going to become an artist any century soon - , but it’s quite relaxing. I also like the feature that transforms handwriting into text, though it only serves to point out how bad my handwriting has become.

  • 👨🏻‍🎓 I completed my C1 level in French, which sounds much more impressive than it actually is. The really success was completing the course regardless of the very uninteresting topics that were addressed. For that, I have to thank the teacher, who managed to keep classes enjoyable

  • ♟️ I have fully re-embraced the practice of trying to solve The Guardian’s Cryptic Crosswords external link . Though many times the definitions still are incomprehensible to me, it’s a good way of spend time that otherwise would be lost - definitely better than Two Dots, anyway.
