Wow, more than a month passed by without a post. What is left of the good intentions? If I think about it, I see several reasons for this standstill:

  1. I feel still a lot of resistance to writing thoughts down in black on white, to expose myself, to open up to the world. In social networks, everything you write remains “forever” for the platform owner, but for the average user, “everything flows”. Unless you have a stalker, no one will bother to scroll through your timeline. On a blog, in my opinion, it’s more likely for people to go and look for past entries.
  2. On the other hand, there’s a feeling of possible ‘waste’ of time to write and publish when probably no one will read it. You can always argue that the time spent writing is still valuable for organising your thoughts and reflecting, but is it necessary to do it ‘in public’?
  3. There is still a lot of technical friction. As much as the idea of a static blog is appealing, I haven’t yet found a workflow that allows me to write and publish in a few simple steps. Platforms like WordPress, from that perspective, provide more satisfaction and immediacy.
  4. I’m not happy with the current template. But tinkering to find the right template won’t give me more time for writing.
