A failed experiment?

Wow, more than a month passed by without a post. What is left of the good intentions? If I think about it, I see several reasons for this standstill: I feel still a lot of resistance to writing thoughts down in black on white, to expose myself, to open up to the world. In social networks, everything you write remains “forever” for the platform owner, but for the average user, “everything flows”. Unless you have a stalker, no one will bother to scroll through your timeline. On a blog, in my opinion, it’s more likely for people to go and look for past entries. The Unholy (2021) - ⭐⭐½

It starts off, in my opinion, quite well (I like the fact that it’s our ‘hero’ that causes all the mess), and it could be a decent horror if it wasn’t for some perplexing directing choice (basically, every scene that’s not people talking) and Cary Elwes overacting. Jerry Maguire (1996) - ⭐⭐⭐½

This review may contain spoilers. I thought I would like this film more: Cameron Crowe at the helm, a Tom Cruise that still cares about acting and only runs occasionally… what’s not to love? But the eponymous main character only takes a good decision in the first two minutes of the story, and for the remaining two hours only succeeds because of the patience and love and talent of the people around him. So why are we supposed to care for him? Just because he’s an ’everyday man’ full of flaws?
